California only · Free check

Find out if your California record can be cleared

Nine questions, about two minutes, no account and no card. You get a straight answer about your own record — including when the answer is that the State has probably already cleared it for free.

  • Flat fees from $399, filing fee included — no separate court cost, no processing fee
  • No surcharge if you had a probation violation, unlike every competitor we checked
  • We tell you what a dismissal does not do before you pay, not after

Read this before you pay anyone

Between July 2022 and December 2023 the California Department of Justice granted automatic relief to 6,861,324 people and notified none of them. Fewer than half had every entry relieved, so plenty of people still need help — but a great many do not, and nobody in this market seems to want to say so.

How automatic relief works and how to check your own record

How this works

  1. Step 1

    Take the free check

Nine closed questions about your case. No documents, no written explanation of what happened, no email address required to see your result.

  2. Step 2

    We read your actual record

If the check says you may qualify, an attorney pulls your court and Department of Justice records and confirms it. If we were wrong and we cannot help, you get the full fee back.

  3. Step 3

    We file it and appear

The petition, the service on the district attorney, the filing fee and the hearing are all ours. You get the signed order when it is granted.

The whole process in detail

What we actually promise

Every one of these is a term of engagement rather than a prediction about a judge. That is the difference between a promise and a sales pitch.

We check whether you already got relief free

Since October 2024 California clears many records automatically and tells nobody it happened. Our check asks about that first, because if the State already did it you should not be paying anyone.

One flat fee, filing fee included

Every price is published. No separate filing fee, no processing fee, no surcharge if you had a probation violation. The number you see is the number you pay.

We do the paperwork and the court appearance

You answer questions in plain English. The petition, the service on the district attorney, the filing and the hearing are the firm's job.

We tell you what it does and does not do

A dismissal is not an erasure. It will not restore gun rights and some licences still see it. You get the real answer here, before you pay, not after.

Which kind of relief do you need?

California has a dozen different statutes for clearing a record, and which one applies decides what it costs and what it is worth.

All twelve types of relief

Flat fees, published, all in

Every firm we checked publishes a price and then adds a filing fee, a processing fee, or a surcharge. Several publish different prices on different pages of their own website. Ours is one number.

Competitor prices are the all-in figure published on each firm's own website, checked 10 October 2026, with the source recorded in our research notes. Prices move; this table is dated for a reason.
